Sporting Breeds

The sporting group includes many of the most popular dogs. These dogs love to be outdoors because of their hunting backgrounds and are alert, active and intelligent. Many sporting dogs are still used as hunting dogs to locate, flush or retrieve game from land and water. They are also a beloved family companion and are used as service dogs for the disabled or bomb and drug-sniffing dogs.

Training this breed is very easy because of their high intelligence. They need to be kept busy or they could get themselves into trouble. But they do make excellent family dogs.

Be sure to find a reputable breeder. Some dogs (Cocker Spaniels, Labradors and Golden Retrievers) have been over bred and now have a rise in health and behavior problems.
